College Night A Success

Everton Florida’s College Night was a great success. Past and present college coaches spoke with aspiring players and their parents about  academic standards, NCAA eligibility, academic and athletic scholarships, recruiting guidelines and the options out there for all potential student athletes.  See what some participants had to say:
“The coaches were all great and I loved the different perspectives -a Division 1 coach, a local men’s coach, a top small college women’s coach, and a very small school coach. A great cross section.
“It was stellar”.
“The college night was very informative and to know what types of programs that the players should be looking at (D1 D2 etc). These two coaches are huge resources, suggesting where to showcase and letting other college coaches know about players they should be looking at”.
“I thought it was very well executed and we gleaned some very useful information.
“Quite honestly, my son was pretty excited after the meeting about playing in college”.
“The explanation of why club is more important than high school when it comes to "being seen" and developing as a player was one of the best I’ve heard.  After hearing why club was so important and how college coaches are able to see far more players at a big club tournament than at a single high school game”.
“When the coaches at College Night highlighted academics and why they are important, I was pleased to hear that high GPAs and good SAT scores do, indeed, factor in the consideration of a spot on a team for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is academic scholarship money”.
“I thought College Night was really good - I really did not know how to go about helping my son play soccer in College-now we know. My son really liked it and learned a lot”.
